The piece

Inner Battles was created during a season where pride and responsibility collided.

The two rearing horses are not fighting each other. They represent the internal split we experience when ego and integrity clash.

Painted entirely with my hands, no brush, the texture is physical, raw, immediate. The black background absorbs excess narrative. It isolates the conflict. It makes the struggle unavoidable.

This work was born during the decision to geld my stallion, Brylant, a choice that required letting go of identity in order to protect life. I believed I could manage his aggression without intervention, without geding him. When his well-being demanded something different, I had to confront the part of myself that wanted to prove rather than protect.

That collision lives in this canvas.

The vivid color bursts symbolize emotional charge: pride, fear, responsibility, love. The tension is unresolved on purpose.
