This painting was born from my own journey. Years ago, I was bedridden with lupus, told I would never ride again. But in that stillness, something powerful stirred: a dream I’d tucked away. A dream of owning a Shire horse. I had no strength in my body, but I found the will to create, to earn, and to believe. That belief brought me Roxy—my first Shire, and my heart horse.

There are fewer than 2,500 Shires left on the planet. And yet, they carry the strength of ancient battlefields and the gentleness of forest rides. They are both warriors and healers—just like so many of us who have fought to stand again.
